SASY

If you would like to introduce your children to the joys of scuba diving, Cayman is the place. Thanks to a program operated by Red Sail Sports, children as young as four can now have a taste of scuba diving. SASY, or Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youths, is a scuba unit customized for young bodies.

Developed in the Cayman Islands by Capt. Wayne Hasson, a father of two young children, the unit combines a regulator so young divers can breath from a continuous air supply and a buoyancy compensator to keep children floating safely near the surface. Units are available for use at Red Sail Sports (www.redsail.com) locations at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman, Westin Casuarina Resort and Marriott Grand Cayman.

“Grand Cayman is the perfect place for kids to learn to use SASY,” explains Red Sail Sports Operations Manager Rod McDowell. “The waters here are clear and calm, and there’s a lot for them to see. Parents can now take their children along on a dive boat, and together the whole family can explore our underwater world.”
