Blow Holes, Grand Cayman

East of the turn-off for Frank Sound Road lies a side-of-the-road attraction: the Blow Holes. Park and walk down to the rugged coral rocks that have been carved by rough waves into caverns. As waves hit the rocks, water spews into the air, creating one of the best photo sites on the island.

To reach the blowholes, park in the a free lot just off the main road. Take the wooden stairs down to sea level.

The "blows" are strongest when the waves are large (and they don't blow on the calmest sea days), when they shoot sprays of water 20 to 30 feet into the air.

WARNING!

Don't stand too close to the edge of these formations. Wear good shoes for this visit; the ironshore is sharp and footing isn't solid.

Location: On main road between Frank Sound and East End
